We spend our days telling businesses what their websites are quietly doing to people. It would be a bit rich if we were cagey about ours. So here's the whole thing, short and straight.
Evergeek is a small web consultancy based in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. If you have a question about anything on this page — or you want your data gone — email privacy (at) evergeek.com. That reaches a person, and that person is responsible for privacy here.
If you fill in the contact form: your name, email address, your message, and — only if you choose to give them — your phone number and website. Our spam filter also notes your IP address and how long the form was open before you hit send — that's how we tell a person from a bot, and both land in the email we receive. We use all of it to reply to you. That's it. We don't add you to a mailing list, we don't sell or share it, and we don't pass it to anyone else.
If you say yes to cookies: analytics about how you used this page (see below). If you say no, we collect none of it and the site works exactly the same.
Saying no to cookies doesn't affect the form. They're separate things: the cookie question is about watching how you browse, and the form is you choosing to send us a message. Decline the cookies and the form still works exactly as it should.
We don't ask for anything sensitive, and please don't send us anything sensitive through the form.
Nothing loads until you tell us it can. Until you click, no analytics cookie is set and no tracking script even downloads. Here's what runs if you agree:
| What | Who | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_* |
Google Analytics 4 | Counts visits and tells us which pages people look at, and roughly where they came from. Your IP is anonymised. | Up to 2 years |
_clck, _clsk |
Microsoft Clarity | Records mouse movement, clicks and scrolling so we can see which parts of the page confuse people. Text you type into the form is masked — we don't capture it. | Up to 1 year |
These are loaded through Google Tag Manager, which is the delivery mechanism rather than a tracker in its own right — it sets no cookie of its own, and it only runs if you've said yes.
Both are run by third parties (Google and Microsoft), which means data may be processed outside Canada, including in the United States. Neither is used to advertise to you, and we don't build a profile of you.
Changed your mind? Click to switch it off. Saying no removes the cookies and stops the collection. It's the same two clicks either way — we're not going to bury the "no" behind a maze.
Under Canadian privacy law — PIPEDA, and Quebec's Law 25 if you're in Quebec — you can ask us to:
Email privacy (at) evergeek.com and we'll sort it out within 30 days. No forms, no hoops. If you think we've handled your information badly and we haven't fixed it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada — or, in Quebec, to the Commission d'accès à l'information.
The site is served over HTTPS, and the contact form sends straight to our inbox. There's no visitor database on this server waiting to be breached, because we didn't build one. The single exception, and we'd rather say it than have you find it: to stop a bot hammering the form, we keep a scrambled one-hour record of recent IP addresses — hashed, unreadable, and deleted automatically. That's the entire extent of what this server remembers about anyone.
If we change how any of this works, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. If it's a significant change and we're already talking, we'll tell you.
