Activision teams with Rapala for (yet another) fishing game
Walks like a wet fish, talks like a cash cow, must be a new Wii game. Thanks Activision!

Apparently, the masses have spoken: A dozen waggle-and-yank fishing games available for Wii is not enough. "Wii needs more fish-iis," cry 1 in 100,000 of 52,000,000 Wii owners, and Activision delivers.

Teaming with outdoor sports icon Rapala for the umpteenth time, third time for Wii specifically, Activision will deliver We Fish for Wii to retail on September 29 (for $39.99, according to Amazon).

The new title will come bundled with a snap-in rod & reel peripheral to accommodate Wii Remote Controller (Wii-mote) and a sidearm winder for a Nunchuck attachment.

The custom peripheral appears identical to the plastic contraption bundled in with Rapala Fishing Frenzy published by Activision just one year ago, itself a follow-up/apology for the abysmally hopeless Rapala Tournament Fishing, published by Activision a couple of years before that.

We Fish will play fast and loose with the sport of sitting in a boat for hours on end by featuring a "comical approach" to fishing with five different game modes, co-op tournaments, 4 player split-screen and multiplayer modes, eight locations, Mii integration, and 50 "wacky" fish species.

"We've partnered with Rapala to develop a new type of fishing game that focuses on arcade style family fun for the Wii," said David Oxford, Activision Publishing, seemingly oblivious to the 10 other family fun fishing games readily available for Wii in the "2 for $10" bins at Walmart. "Combining responsive controls with an action-packed, humorous direction, we have created a fishing game that's unlike anything out there," Oxford added without irony.
