Peggle gets WoWed
PopCap Games has released a free World of Warcraft version of its phenomenally popular casual game, Peggle. It's all very casually hardcore.

Peggle and Word of Warcraft (WoW) are no strangers as an add-on enabling players to play the casually addictive Peggle game within the massively-multiplayer online (MMO) WoW game has already been around for a couple of months.

But now, PopCap is offering a similar treat/cross-promotional gimmick with a stand-alone version of Peggle that features WoW themes and background imagery.

Available as Peggle: World of Warcraft Edition, the free PC download features 10 new levels of its ball spitting, brick busting goodness, each sporting a different "theme" of Azeroth, WoW's game world.

As a lure to the full version of the game, which these days only costs $9.95, there's not much more to it than that. Then again, Peggle is known as a righteous gem of a game and a new free variation of it is nothing to scoff at. Don't look a gift Tauren in the mouth, so to speak.

Warning: Peggle can lead to prolonged gaming sessions and daydreams about plinking pegs and smiley unicorns. Evergeek Media scored Peggle a rare 5 out of 5.
