Like some Xbox games before it, select Xbox 360 titles will soon be available as "Platinum Hits" which sees certain big selling games repackaged and offered anew at squeezing-every-last-nickel-out-of-this-puppy price.
Interestingly, while original Xbox Platinum Hits each cost a scant $19.99 USD, $29.99 Cdn, the Xbox 360 Plats carry a suggest price of $29.99 USD, $39.99 Cdn. Regular A-list Xbox 360 games cost about $60 USD, $70 Cdn; a $10 bump or more over the long running price of $50/$60 for most any new game on current generation systems. The steeper retail price is commonly attributed to recuperation of the allegedly higher production costs of making Xbox 360 games--not inflation, the argument goes, since the economies of scale offset it.
Regardless, with thirty as the new twenty, the first wave of Xbox 360 Platinum Hits include Perfect Dark Zero, Project Gotham Racing 3, Kameo: Elements of Power, and Need for Speed Most Wanted, which will be available as of October 15.
