Nintendo recently reveal yet more features coming to the feature-laden Nintendo DS, the most engaging of which is downloadable game demos.

During a keynote address at the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences' D.I.C.E. conference in Las Vegas on Feb 8th and 9th, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of sales & marketing, Reggie Fils-Aime, unveiled the new DS Download Service.

Interestingly and cleverly, game samplers for the likes of Tetris DS, Brain Age and Mario Kart DS will be freely available via Nintendo's Wi-Fi service, but only at select game stores and kiosks nationwide. Furthermore, the demos will only remain for the duration the DS is left turned on, obviously encouraging players to buy the full version of the game, which is conveniently available at the retail outlet they're standing in.

Fils-Aime also revealed the new "Metroid Chat" feature that will allow DS users to send short voice recordings to each other provided they purchase the new Metroid Prime Hunters game this March.
