Rockstar Games, the universally-renowned, consistently-infamous, SOAP (Senators On A Platform)-targeted publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., just proudly unveiled Grand Theft Auto IV. The game marks the next-generation console debut for the genre-defining Grand Theft Auto franchise.
Developed by Scotland-based Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto IV will be simultaneously available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and is currently slated to hit North America on October 16, 2007 (Europe on October 19, 2007).
The GTA franchise is as critically acclaimed for it's ground-breaking "sandbox" gameplay that allows for "go anywhere, do anything" gameplay. It is also, at the same time, politically decried as a "murder simulator" as well as a clumsy pornography advocate after a section of hidden game code became accessible to the public in the now tepid "hot coffee" scandal.
