Toronto-area twosome Jason Kent and Winston So have just launched Indie Band Canada, a site dedicated to promoting independent musicians and recording talent.

Bands can create a free account listing their biographical info (influences, members, last known whereabouts, etc.) and post it to the website for public consumption.

The site also features a semi-embedded music player called IBCTunes, which streams playlists in one of six genres: hard rock, soft rock, hip hop/R&B/rap, country/folk, and reggae/ska.

The two owners say the site is already getting more than 370,000 hits a month, which bodes well for all the aspiring rappers, rockers, twangers and poppers out there.

More info at www.indiebandcanada.com.
