No surprise here: turns out what makes a great 1930's movie serial also makes for great videogaming.

Aptly touted as "Indiana Jones in a plane," Microsoft's Crimson Skies High Road to Revenge has you flying around in a bunch of overly armed and fantastically improbable planes, fulfilling missions that require a lot of stunt flying and a whole lot of dog-fighting.

Not to be confused with a flight simulator type game, this one is easy to pick up and play, but more than deep enough to keep you hooked as you play through an entertaining story of over-the-top heroes vs. vial villainous scum. Along the way, you master a variety of low-flying aerial acrobats only possible in the land of make-believe.

What's more, Crimson Skies' online multiplayer component--which has you teaming up and/or going head to head against other couch-centric pilots in play modes such as Dogfight, Team Dogfight, Flag Heist, Wild Chicken, Keep Away and Team Keep Away--is practically a complete, verily flawless game unto itself.
