You may have your new game system all set up and raring to go, but now you'll need games, and there's only like a billion to choose from. Worse, year's end is exactly when all those new titles come piling up, each waxing at "must have" freshness, each vying for your hard earned dollar, and only some actually worth it. So, while the following is by no means representative of all the new games found on store shelves right about now (and completely omitting many great titles released earlier in the year), it is a list of recommended faves.

    Windows PC games
    10 new Windows PC games generating the most buzz, most of them delivering the goods promised, and one not.



Nintendo games
Between Nintendo's freshly minted Wii console plus the launch of the sleeker, slicker handheld system known as the Nintendo DS Lite, a lot of games have come available in a year-end blitz, each vying for your attention. Here are some of the best offerings.



    PlayStation games
    Here's the best of the year-end PlayStation gaming blitz, including hot new titles for PlayStation3, PlayStation2, and PlayStation Portable.



Xbox 360 games
